Durden Chiropractic Clinic - Conditions Treated

Headaches, shoulder pain or neck pain can make it hard to enjoy life.  If you suffer from any of these issues, help is available from Durden Chiropractic Clinic, your chiropractors in Tyrone and McDonough. We specialize in upper cervical chiropractic care, using what is known as the Atlas Orthogonal System.

Chiropractor Inspecting Spine

General Chiropractic Care

The alignment of the spine and other joints in the body has a big impact on your overall health. When the spine is out of alignment, muscles become shortened or uneven (muscles work in pairs). This puts tension on the tendons and ligaments and creates chronic muscle spasm. You change your gait or movements to accommodate the pain. In addition to causing pain, misalignment in the spine can result in other symptoms such as gastrointestinal distress, high blood pressure and an irregular pulse. Chiropractic adjustment can restore proper function and free trapped, tense muscles to relieve your pain.

Upper Cervical Chiropractic Care

The upper cervical area is subject to misalignment for a variety of reasons. We are Board Certified in Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractic Technique. First, the adult head weighs 9 to 17 pounds. Its only support is the cervical spine and the muscles, tendons and ligaments of the neck. Whiplash, poor posture and other daily habits can quickly result in neck pain, shoulder pain, headaches and migraines (which are actually a neurological condition). Problems in the neck can cause vertigo, or dizziness, and may also cause nausea or even visual distress. Headache treatment and migraine treatment include spinal adjustment – especially of the atlas – the first cervical vertebra. Other treatment, such as intersegmental traction, cryotherapy, posture correction and targeted exercise, are also helpful.

Other Chiropractic Care

In addition to upper cervical care, which is our specialty, we also offer treatment for other conditions. For example, low back pain can be the result of injury, poor body mechanics or postural issues. Spinal adjustment usually provides quick relief. Pregnancy care can promote an easier delivery. Nutritional analysis and counseling ensure optimum nutrition for the whole family. Joint pain in areas other than the spine can limit motion and prevent you from exercising or performing many daily activities. Both adults and children can benefit from chiropractic care, including headache treatment and migraine treatment.

Reviews By Our Satisfied Patients

  • "I am treated very well by the staff and my doctor is wonderful…she does an excellent job and she has a wonderful personality and treats me with respect. I feel so good that I am being treated in a natural way rather than shots to feel good and surgery. I am a little tired after my sessions, but I quickly spring back into more energy than I’ve had in a long time…….and I’m just beginning!"

  • "I have never had such positive results from any treatment as I have since I decided to commit to this type of chiropractic. I am sold. And when I find something that is as amazing as this, I share with everyone I see. I am spreading the word at EMC where I work and with family. You should be getting some calls from some of them. Wish I had found out about your practice a long time ago"
